Half Cent Collection

  These pages are devoted to my modest half cent collection. Proof-only issues and restrikes are omitted since they are prohibitively expensive. The immediate goal is to collect one of every date (32), then to collect each Redbook variety (56), then finally the Cohen varieties (99). Since there are many rarities a complete collection is not practical so as many as possible will have to suffice.

  There are pictures of most of the coins that can be accessed from the Cohen variety page. It's a great way to document a collection and also still be able to view it while the coins are in a safe deposit box.

  Half cents were minted from 1793-1857 with several gaps listed below.
